There is strong interest in the topic of electronically steered antennas – so-called trackers, and we have devoted much research and to develop an ultra-lightweight and compact design for applications to be used on airplanes or as mobile ground stations that can easily be transported and deployed in the field.
Key parameters of development include considerations of frequency, weight, size, and power consumption. For applications on small tactical drones, we have sought to make the tracker prototype less than 1kg in overall weight, smaller than 7.5”, and less than 7 Watt power consumption, with a frequency capability that runs up to 6 GHz.
Examples of applications include: a drone to drone relay system, and a mobile ground station for drones.
